A new book titled Letters & Pictures from the Old Suitcase presents an anthology of writing by 32 Canadian contributors about precious handed-down family items such as old letters and photographs that help tell the story of Jewish history, migration and survival.

The anthology is edited by Ellen S. Jaffe and Lil Blume and offers pieces by Alvin Abram, Larry Anklewicz, Miriam Beckerman, Beth Kaplan, Seymour Mayne, Ken Sherman, J. J. Steinfeld and many others. The publisher is Pinking Shears Publication of Hamilton.

The book was launched in Hamilton earlier this month. A Toronto launch, hosted by the Jewish Genealogical Society of Canada (Toronto), takes place at Edithvale Community Centre, 131 Finch Ave. W., on Thursday, June 28, 7 to 9 p.m.
