India, Israel may partner in cyber-defence initiative

NEW YORK — Israel has invited India to participate in a joint effort on cyber defence.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended the offer during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York on Sept. 28, according to  the Hindustan Times.

The cyber-defence project aims to be a link between civilian and military authorities, the Indian paper reported.

In their meeting, the two prime ministers also discussed potential cooperation in defense, technology, water and agriculture, as well as the dangers posed by a nuclear-armed Iran and Islamic terrorism, according to the Hindustan Times.
