TORONTO — Some 250 young professionals and community members wined and dined in support of Toronto’s Jewish Urban Meeting Place (JUMP) on July 31.

“It was moving to see the enthusiastic response from our community. JUMP plays such a crucial role in the post-university life of GTA young professionals.  We were so thrilled to be supporting the work they do with this exciting event,” said Stephanie Silverman, one of this year’s Wine Festival co-chairs.

Now in its second year, the festival returned to Arta Gallery for a night of fine wines and food.

Guests were treated to a sommelier lesson from Adam Bekhor, tasting kosher wines from across the globe and dining on Asian-themed appetizers courtesy of Clearwater Catering. One lucky guest went home with a round trip ticket to Israel, compliments of El Al Airlines.

JUMP is a non-profit organization that provides social, educational, volunteer, and leadership opportunities for young Jewish adults from 22 to 34.

The turnout reflects the community of dedicated young people JUMP has fostered since it started in 2007, said Alana Kayfetz, JUMP’s director of strategic development.

“The work we do and the events that we bring to Toronto are designed to resonate with the community we are a part of.  Whether your interests are academic, religious or social, JUMP aims to provide diverse programming for the community is serves,” Kayfetz said.

Besides Silverman, the other event co-chairs were Isaac Apter, Jared Gaber, Orli Kessel and David Steckel.
