ICRF to honour four women at annual lunch

TORONTO — The Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) is honouring four women at its 11th annual Women of Action Luncheon, April 26 at the Sheraton Centre.

Sheryl Abbott, the executive director of the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry & Fragrance Association Foundation is being honoured for her company’s charity, Look Good Feel Better, which is dedicated to empowering women to manage the effects that cancer and its treatment have on their appearance and, often, on their morale.

Also being honoured are Lisa Borsook, a managing partner at WeirFoulds LLP; Dr. Fei-Fei Liu, a professor in University of Toronto’s department of radiation oncology, a staff radiation oncologist at Princess Margaret Hospital/University Health Network and a senior scientist at the Ontario Cancer Institute; Lynn Posluns, the managing director of Cedarpoint Investments Inc., the founder and president of Women’s Brain Health Initiative and a community leader.

Joy Wagner Arbus, ICRF’s executive director, said that Posluns is the first recipient of the Vicki Campbell “VAST” community award on behalf of Henry Campbell and family, given out to women “who have done exemplary work in the broader community and who have worked hard to make the world a better place.”

The luncheon will be hosted by Beverly Thomson, the co-host of CTV’s national morning show Canada AM.
